Norwich Union Home Insurance Loophole

I currently have Home Contents Insurance with Norwich Union Direct arranged by phone on year ago.
This year I decided to reapply from scratch to get a better deal as a 'new' customer and do the application via the internet (Martin's suggestion). Yes, I did save money on a 'like' for 'like' policy.
However, I saved even more as the internet site allowed me contents cover as low as £15,000 (not the minimum £35,000 I had via phone last year). Anyway I decided I needed £20,000 of cover and got a quoute of £80, which I paid for.
Today, I received my policy documents and I have cover for £35,000 at £80! I rang NU and they confirmed that they always give £35,000 cover even if you ask for less!
Now, if I had actually requested £35,000 of cover it would have cost me £103 but I have got that level of cover for £80!
So, don't renew your home contents policy get a new quote (online saves you even more) and ask for less cover than you need and they then give you £35,000 of cover anyway!
