Live webcam - will this work?

I want to set up a live webcam from my PC, I don't need to record the images but I do need to be able to access the live images from another PC.
I have done a quick google and in the absence of having my own website it suggests beaming the images to a 'webcam service' such as Yahoo (I'll worry about what the hell that may be when I've got the camera!) Here's the link I got my info from - http://cowboyfrank.net/webcams/HowTo.htm
Please can someone with a techie brain tell me if this webcam, randomly chosen, from PC World will do the trick, the image or sound quality isn't that important BTW.

Also is there any other hardware or software that I'll need? I'm not dense but am not particulary technically minded so relatively simple answers would be much appreciated
Thanks in advance for any thoughts.
Edited to add:
As I won't be able to access the webcam services (Yahoo messenger, MSN messenger etc) from work I understand I will need my own website. Would this 'website in a box' work, ie) is it suitable to run a webcam from.

Here's the technical blurb...
Technical details:
For advanced users, Mr Site allows the functionality of users uploading their own HTML pages and pictures, using any popular FTP program. Hosting space is limited to 150Mb however further space can be made available to all users of Mr Site. Once the webpage has been published it will listed on Google for six weeks. This is normal for all websites created, not just those through Mr Site. You can also transfer your existing Domain name to Mr Site. This option is given to you during set up. Alternatively if you want to continue with your current domain name company, you can arrange for the DNS setting to changedto point to Mr Site Domain instead. Your Domain name company should be able to assist and support you through this process and the details you require in order to make this successful are printed with in the manaual.
Thanks for all your help

OK, I've just burst my own bubble. I see that to beam it to Yahoo etc I'll need to download messenger, that's fine from my home PC but I wouldn't be able to download it at work which is where I want to view the images from...
Any other ways I can view my live home webcam at work?0 -
You can try using; http://portableapps.com/ That way you don't have to install anything on your work computer.(You might need to convince the IT monkey to allow you to have a drive letter on your computer, if none are available)
Anyway, Install Miranda as part of your Portable Apps Suite and then include this add-on; http://addons.miranda-im.org/details.php?action=viewfile&id=28680 -
I use icatcher software - you bung in your ip address and it seems to do the rest - not a clue how. I have put mine on a website https://www.bluetitwatch.co.uk. You can download a free trial version here http://www.icode.co.uk/icatcher/registration/registration.htm0

Does anyone know whether the website in a box would be a suitable website ie) technically able to host the webcam pics? Really want to do this

dunno about that - I'm not particularly techie minded. I got my site going quite easily on office live - it free for the basic level.
http://office.microsoft.com/en-GB/officelive/default.aspx
I have blue tits nesting which I wanted to show my friends as a live web cam - I am using icatcher software - see earlier.
My site is http://bluetitwatch.co.uk/default.aspx - look at the live feed page. I turn it off at night - no light so check between 9am and 8pm.
As I say - I am a complete beginner, but managed to make the site myself - with help from forums.
Hope this helps.:D0 -
Thanks fio, will give it a go

Woo Hoo! I've done it - I signed up for a free website and the webcam I bought (Creative Live! Cam Video IM £16 from PC World) included the software needed to send the data to the webpage so it has cost me £16 in all. Thanks for everyone's help
