Basically, i;m building a parition wall to section off the dining room from the living room and the dining room will be used as another bedroom in a my mates student house.
What materials or specialist soundproofing boards can be used to cut out sound. Also, I won't be using plasterboard to board the walls up as it is a temporarey solution, so what is the best alternative. I'm stuck between hardboard (too thin), thick MDF, or PLywood.
thanx

Use plasterboard, with fibreglass/wool or kingspan inside the cavity
Can't believe I've responded to this nonsense!
If this property is let out, there is all sorts of fire regs to consider and probably building regs.0 -
Kingspan only really does heat insulation and is mega expansive.
Rockwool do a special sound insulation and British gypsum do a 'sound board' its blue check out their webby.
