Android Airplay equivalent/DLNA query

Good afternoon all, your knowledge required please!
I have what I think is a straightforward query, but a morning of Internet searching and my own knowledge hasn’t bought up anything.
In essence, I would like an Android version of Apple’s Airplay.
I have an Jellybean Android phone, and am also looking to buy a Nexus 7 or 10, so am firmly buying into the Google ecosystem.
I intend to utilise Google Drive for all media storage going forward (and get rid of iTunes finally!) so would like the ability to stream this media via my phone/tablet to my HDMI amp in as simple and cheap way as possible.
I do not have a DLNA enabled TV/Amp, I don’t want to use my PS3 for this task. I have a netgear router from Sky for WiFi.
Is there a 'little box' that I could plug into my Amp via HDMI that would accept this, and I could control via an App on either of the aforementioned devices? I’m not adverse to buying an Airplay or Apple TV if this is the only way to do it.
Ideally I would like something like the Nexus Q, but this isn’t available and is far too expensive.
Any thoughts welcomed! Thanks.

Streaming to Apple devices from Android is not straightforward as you might imagine.
Be careful that apps such as Double Twist only stream to Airplay devices such as Apple Tv, not Airtunes devices like Airport express. Its slightly different although on an Apple devices it looks no different.
Tried to get a refund from Double twist after I had this problem which it now covers in their small print.
I use a denon dnp720 and works great with android/ dnla and apple devices.0 -
How about a cheap Android phone hidden around the back like a Samsung with hdmi output cable running something like this;
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.waxrain.airplaydmr
Also look up Raspberry Pi projects as I would imagine there is one and hardware is £250
