Help me!

Hello all!

I am in a bit of a pickle indeed.

I have £20 to my name, at least £150 in bills coming out over the next month and I do not receive my student loan until April 15th. I also need money for food and travel expenses to my placement. My bank have declined my student overdraft increase request on several occasions and I have exhausted pretty much all my options.

I know I should be a bit better with my money, but I genuinely do spend as best as I can, but I have gotten myself in this position.

What can I do?! Does anyone have any advice for me? Where I could go, who I could talk to or get help from?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  • Speak to your uni - there should be further financial support (either repayable or not) that you can apply for, like an Access to Learning fund or emergency hardship loan. Good luck!

I agree that you should speak to your uni. Go to their homepage and look for student services, or similar. There should be contact details there for someone you can talk to. If you can't find anything, speak to your advisor of studies in the first instance - s/he should be able to point you in the right direction.
