Well, just for everyone's info - I started from scratch at a different B&Q branch and got a fab deal. The kitchen worked out cheaper than the Ikea one I'd wanted to price match with and the v. helpful designer also price matched the appliances with the cheapest price I could find on the internet. RESULT!

I think the wasp-chewing manager in the other branch just couldn't be bothered with the effort tbh. Will be writing to Head Ofiice when the dust has settled.

That's the thing with b and q. It really depends on who you get.

I have had some really good service in there. One chap lead a client of mine by the hand and guided her to all the bits she needed for her bathroom. I phoned in advance and asked if they could do this and suggested she speak to the gent I spoke to when she got there.

Another was a total waste of space. He went to find out a price on a bathroom suite for me then vanished - completely - without a trace.

I nearly lost the will to live by the time I had decided he was not coming back - 20 minutes later.

It annoys me when people cannot be bothered. I say sack them and put someone in there with the motivation and inclination to do the job they're paid for.
