Unsolicitied text messages from Wonga

Hi all
I wasn't sure which forum to put this into - Money, Mobile or Rant; please move this post if required.
Here's my problem:
I'm not a customer of Wonga, but have been receiving SMS messages from them.
These are not marketing spam but contain confidential info such as PIN numbers and a customer's name.
I have tried various methods to stop Wonga from texting me every month. These include:
1) Replying with the word STOP
2) Using the Contact Us function on the Wonga website
3) Phoning Wonga customer services (IVR)
4) Emailing Wonga customer services
I have had no response from Wonga whatsoever and they have again texted me today.
Any advice on what to do next?
Thanks in advance.

One thing more to try, is to write to them:

You don't say what kind of phone you have but if you have a smartphone many of the call filter apps will also allow you to block certain messages and will add the sender to a blocked list so they will then go directly to bloacked messages rather than appearing on your phone. I use AVAST as it also acts as a bit of an antivirus for net browsing and has added security if you lose your phone etc but there are plenty of alternatives out there. Feel free to PM me if you want any advice on using avast etcEveryone has a dark side... apparently mine is called Harold?!? :huh:0

If you receive unsolicited text messages on your mobile, forward it to your network provider. Send via text to 7726 (SPAM) or 87726 if on Vodafone.

All: Thanks for the replies.
ManInTheStreet: I will write to them and see what happens.
I notice they only quote their registered office address and so it will go to their accountants "Cameron Baum". Hopefully they will pass it to the right person. However, given Wonga have ignored all other forms of communication I'm not expecting much.
RedFraggleBiker: I actually have Avast installed on my SGS2, but wasn't aware it could block/move unwanted SMS messages. I've now set up a new group to do this and can also use it for other spammers in future.
OxfordRocks: I should have mentioned in the OP that I had also tried forwarding previous texts to the SPAM number but that didn't prevent other texts from coming through.
I'm also going to talk directly to T-Mobile and see if they can stop these texts somehow.
Thanks again.
EDIT 18/03/13: Thought I would update this thread to say that Wonga have now emailed me and apologised for "an applicant accidentally using my number in their application". They have asked him for the correct mobile number and promised to send me no more texts... fingers crossed :0)0 -
Hi all,
It's just a quick post to clarify that the number which our customers can forward any nuisance or spam messages to is now also 7726.
Thanks,
Lee
