Is that where you can't drive down into the village and have to park up top?
I have no idea?....thing is I found a package in dads house. wrapped in brown paper and string...never been opened. So I opened it and it was an oil painting of mevagissey harbour in 1920. It had been bought though, from a gallery in marsielles ???
It had an invoice in and he paid a fair bit if € for it. I emailed the gallery yesterday and all the info I got was that he bought it when they had an exhibition on and they had mailed it to him after the exhibition finished.....sadly after the last time he visited the house:(
we did spend a couple if years living at RAF st Mawgan when I was a child, so chances are he visited? but Im intrigued why he bought the painting.....maybe I'll never find out?maybe there's no mystery and he was just taken by it? It's not to my taste so I can't see me hanging it in the house.....it might just remain a mystery

I always visit Mevagissy when I'm in Cornwall. Very quaint place and I love to walk out to the far end if the harbour wall and watch the fishermen. It's also a pretty dramatic scene on a stormy day. Maybe it held the same appeal to your father0 -
