    Evening all

SD you appear to have a great sense of humour today.
Just an idea but if boxer is opening the gates have you thought about cable ties to keep them shut. Can be bought very cheaply at any diy shop. I am presuming they are only in place while you are out though.
I used to look after a staffy who could open the gates by pawing at the big nuts used to secure the gate in place until she could slip underneath.
    V x

I cable tied the top one shut when I went to my mums for an hour and came back to the boxer yet again sitting on the sofa wagging his tail! He had pulled the top gate so much that the bottom of it came away from the door frame and he pulled the bolts out so he could slip under the gate easily.
It took me a few minutes to work out how he'd got out because when I looked at the gates they looked to be in the right places, it was only when I pushed the top one and it swung into the kitchen that I realised what had happened :rotfl: he's too clever for his own good!
The gates are going to be up all the time but open when I'm in and shut when I have to go out.
I'll have to put the other new gate up on the top instead of the old one, for my sanity I need to go out for more than an hour or two at a time so need to know I won't come back to more damage.
He causes the same amount of damage regardless of if I've been gone for 20 mins or 2 hours, I can't put him out in the yard because he's very protective of his home so barks at every noise and I've already been threatened with the dog warden because of their noise in the first few weeks we had them. I don't want things to go that way.
