I think the problem with my DS is that he is just like his dad, and they clash and just cannot seem too get on together, they wind each other up. Could that be the same with your step son?
My DH used to say this about me and DS, we both have firey tempers and dwell on things a lot. I don't think it was good at times
I'd like to think this has settled down quite a bit we now get on with things, it's now just the two musketeers against the world but we'll struggle on, we've got to - the third musketeer would be so disappointed to think I'd crumble so easily.
I'm not saying it'll be easy, we still have a few incidents where DS is totally obnoxious and self centred and down right rude but if I explain to him why I don't like the way he's getting on he'll stomp off to his room for a while then come back down and apologise for what he's done and some times explain why he's done it.
Angelsmadv over time it'll get better, he'll come to realise that you only want what's best for him and care for him greatly, he may be reacting to the situation between you and his mum, maybe he's worried that you'll leave him and he doesn't want that so is acting up to see how you both react.
My uncle was in your situation almost 20 years ago, he got together with my aunt who had 4 kids ranging from 14 down to 5/6 yrs old. He had the same hassles that you are going through, he got the usual 'you're not my dad' my aunt dealt with the kids for this reason. It was only when my aunt was attacked that the kids realised that he did care what happened to them and their mum and would never let them down.
It wasn't a bed of roses by any means but they managed to muddle through it, his proudest moment was when the second and fourth girls asked if he would mind them calling him dad, he was strutting about like a peacock for months you couldn't wipe the smile off his face
He died 9 years ago this June but lived long enough to meet the second daughters second son and was so proud to be called 'granda' to see his face holding that newborn for the first time will never be wiped of my memory, he was so weak but held and took in every detail of that child for hours no one else got a chance to hold him that day. We all realised he was saying hello and goodbye in one go so left him to itSPC #329 £471/£500 banked

SD - Thank you so much for your words. I know you've been, and are still going through very trying times yourself.
DD1 who is 21 had little Maddie-Moo a month back now. She treats me so well and calls me Granddad - when I first held her, I got the feeling you describe. His situation sounds very similar to my own. I do hope he comes to see that I have his best interests at heart. I'd love for them to call me dad but their biological dad gets upset when they do so they're almost trained not to. When they get me father's day cards it melts me!
If you and your DS ever need anything a big softie northerner can help with, don't hesitate to PM me! :AI am firmly across the line. I won't impose my values on you if you keep away from mine.

Just as a "Help for the Elite" message. If you get stung with Fedex £10 import admin cost, simply pay them the VAT and refuse to pay FedEx the £10 (do this by email) as you have no contract with them when you buy from an oversees supplier. HTH :A
4. Buy from eBay with games for same price.
A Good one HERE and HERE - depends where you live!
But from your list, get the £134 one. You can get a decent enough cable from Amazon for £3. HTH.
Edit - This too!
I have also had a lot of success buying from local groups on Facebook. I got a Aqua 3Ds with 9 games for £80!
Thanks for your advice and everyone elses.
Torn on the 12GB issue, mainly used for blu-rays and watching streamed TV. Think the men play FIFA and CoD, so not much memory needed.
Now bidded on one on Ebay, let you know shortly.
Can someone explain CEX. I have old BB phones here, can I literally walk in to a store with the phones and walk out with a PS3?I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. CEX usually hold onto electrical items for a short while (approx 1hr for consoles, maybe roughly the same for phones) so they can test them. They'll offer you an amount in cash, or a higher amount in trade-in credit.
If they offer you enough, you could well walk out with your PS3.
I traded a load of old DVD's and games for my xbox0 -
