Oh Spiralingdown, I really do feel for you hun ...................... especially as I have just posted about my dogs on FB :(

But the main reson for my absence is that I have been agonising over a decision I must make and it has been getting me down. Yesterday, I made that decision. As you know I have two dogs, 1 year old Molly and 9 year old Bess, and I have been worrying about not looking after them properly. With my bad knees/mobility problems, I have been unable to take them out as much as they need/deserve, in case my knee goes on me. It has done this but it worries me that it might go on me the other side of the fields and I couldn't get them back home, so I am only taking them for one walk a day, round the street. I have been so depressed when at home that I have spent so much time away, either up North with my family, or down Portsmouth/Southampton with Kit, Steve and Andy. This has meant that they have been in kennels so many times, and for long periods at a time. Quite apart from the expense, which I can't sustain indefinitely, it is not fair on the poor dogs. They are ok in there, but are used to being in a family home, not in kennels, and I find that I am losing control of them in some ways and have to re-housetrain them when they come come. Molly, in particular, needs more exercise to get rid of her energy, and more attention than I am giving her

I have agonised over the pros and cons of this, as I love them both so dearly, but have to be fair to them and they deserve better than I can give them right now, so I will be talking to the couple who run the kennels and to the lady who runs the dog rescue there and taking their advice on getting them rehomed. Molly, my beautiful 14 month old cairn/yorkie cross, should find a new home easily but it will be harder for Bess, due to her age (9) hence the need to take advice

Not an easy decision to make but I have to do this, for their sake. I need to do this for them, not for me, but it still feels like a betrayal

    :(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(

3Dogs, it is CERTAINLY NOT a betrayal. It is putting the dogs best interests at heart, however much it hurts you. Typical of you Susan to put others first.:A
