I'm the same as you but sometimes awake all night but tend to catch up & lurk rather than join in the chat.

  • Thanks for the new thread SFSB.

I've had a very stressful day and have a long one tomorrow. I've a course from 9.30 to 1.30, luckily not too far from home, then have after school club from 3 to 4.30. I hate these long days :(
My course is about mental health and it's impact on the community and ways to ease the burden for the whole family unit, especially the children. Well it's something like that anyway, I can't really remember as I signed to do it at Xmas time. I just hope I manage to get through the whole thing, just have to remember to take my meds with me, my supervisor offered to ring them and let them know I'd not be able to make it but this is the first time they've been able to offer this course to non-professionals to don't want to miss out if you know what I mean.

I have also had to make the heart breaking decision to rehome one of my dogs, a friend is trying to find a suitable home for the boxer. I know I can't give him the time and he's just not got a good quality of life with us cramped into a small house with no garden and me not being able to handle him on the lead at all because he's too strong, I've bruises from the last time I tried to walk him :(. I did get a behaviourist out to access him a few weeks ago but she rang after the consult to say she couldn't help us :(.
I've tried loads of stuff with him but nothing seems to work, the lurcher on the other hand is now an angel to work with so I'm assuming it's something just hasn't clicked in his brain. He understands that if I say sit there will be a treat but that's the only command he knows now yet before he had to stay with my friend he knew most commands, I think it's just me he refuses to obey!
It's also got to the point if I leave him alone for even 15 mins he has something destroyed, my cooker and washing machine are the latest casualties. If I take the lurcher out he wrecks something, if I take him out she sleeps, if I take him out before her I still come back to the same level of mess then he left in :(. It's got to the stage I have ALL my kitchen cupboards emptied and in boxes in the sitting room, we have a path to the kitchen because the tumble drier had to come out too and I've no where else to put it. Living in this house has become unbearable, I dread going back to find out what he's done now. I'm dreading tomorrow so will be looking for toys in the morning that I know will keep him occupied for a wee while, I'd rather pick up bits of tennis balls and not bits of my double glazing window sills!

Sorry went off on a bit of a tangent, bed for me, good night all
