2nd car - Mercedes A Class? Corsa? Audi - help please!!!

hi

we're in the process of buying a 2nd car and am debating buying a Mercedes A-Class and wondered what people's experiences of these are, and also, how big they are inside for drivers ... my husband is tall and I am ahem ..."cuddly" embarass.gif so want a decent drivers space. I'm also debating a Corsa, which I've driven before... old (03) shape. And finally, to add to the confusion, I also like the Audi A2 but know zilch about them!

I know the Mercedes is more about the badge, so may need a reality check, and know the Corsa is the more obvious practical choice, but I fancy a change, especially as I'm giving up my loved 1st car to my hubby as his main car!!

any advice or experiences would be appreciated please.

thanks
Windy

The A class is NOT a good car. For the same sort of money, you can actually do better than a Corsa too. The A2 is a nice car but have you considered the Audi A3? Its an excellent and trendy car.

The A2 is superb. I've owned one for over a year, a 1.4 TDi, it costs £22 to fill the tank and I get approx 320 miles, fully comp insurance is £180 and here's the best bit.......12 months road tax is ........... £35 !!!! per year.
Very roomy inside and have all the Audi refinements.

the a clas is basicly a failed merc R&D project on electric cars that the hacked into a new car, thats why it almost flipped over going round the cones in its imfamous video.

ive nothing against corsas but they tend to be favorites of young boys hence will likley be more stealable and more to insure.

frankly i dont like small cars so cant offer much advice(i think a it would be perfectly reasonable to have a bmw 750 as a family car) other than to sat my mates bro who is a serious gear head got an a3 and loves it.

Have you thought of a VW Golf?

Avoid the A-Class. It is Mercedes at its worst (and unfortunately, the current crop of Mercedes used cars aren't that good at reliability).
  • I had an A class a few years back now, and it was fab ! it was our 2nd car, Im a stay at home mum, it was perfect for a run about. I sold it to a friend of a friend, and with in 6 months they had serious problems with it. Everything i have read about them happened to it, and I guess i was just very lucky !

I'd go for Audi anyday myself, My mum has an A3 (thier second car) and her and dad are realy pleased, they havnt done 'cars' before, have always just had a 4x4 and they are realy impressed. my mum is the cuddly sort too op !!! the boot is realy generous for a smaller car.

sorry just think of my mad cousin boy racer when you mention Corsa !
