External memory help?!?

I urgently need to back up my laptop onto a external hardrive however I am rather clueless. If anybody with some knowledge could give me some guidance on which ones are best I would be very grateful.

I am looking to spend in the region of £50-60. Thank you!

If your desperate try PC world. you can normally get a HDD for less than £60. if you have time you can probably save a few quid by ordering online.
And of course, if you dont need to back up lots of data you can always burn to DVD's or stick the data on dropbox.
