I urgently need to back up my laptop onto a external hardrive however I am rather clueless. If anybody with some knowledge could give me some guidance on which ones are best I would be very grateful.
I am looking to spend in the region of £50-60. Thank you!

If your desperate try PC world. you can normally get a HDD for less than £60. if you have time you can probably save a few quid by ordering online.
And of course, if you dont need to back up lots of data you can always burn to DVD's or stick the data on dropbox.0 -
How much of your data do you need to backup?
Once you know this, you can pick the right size of external memory (CDR, DVD, USB stick, external drive), connect it to the PC, then merely copy/paste files from PC to external0 -
