HP Cashback cut off date changed without notification

Afternoon all,
I purchased an HP N40L Microserver from EBuyer in December last year. I was attracted to it by an offer that promised £100 cashback if I bought it and the server was invoiced between 1st December and 31st January, which mine was.
The terms and conditions say that the closing date for receipt of the forms is Thursday 28th February 2013. I sent the form and invoice off a couple of weeks back and received an email yesterday saying the form had been received but that I was too late for the cashback. Er... what? lol
So I replied back and pointed out that it clearly says in their own terms and conditions that the cut off is Thursday 28th February 2013.
Well, today I come home to another email saying that I won't get the cashback as HP decided to end the offer early and they updated the form online. It now ended on January 31st. Well maybe, but they never notified me of the change!
Had the offer not been there, I wouldn't have bought the server as I don't feel it is worth the £100 extra. Can I return the server as they've changed the terms of the offer after purchase and it was purchased on the basis that I could get that cashback within the alloted time?
I suspect not but I really don't want it now because of that.
If companies can suddenly change the terms of an offer without warning like that then it seems a bit pointless making the offer in the first place. I certainly won't buy anything else from HP and neither will the company I work for now either (that's what happens when you screw the guy who makes the purchasing decisions - oops!) so they've already potentially lost a lot more than £100!

You and they are bound by whatever terms and conditions were online on the date of purchase IMO - when are they saying they changed the offer and when did you place your order? Write a letter of complaint to HP.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0
