Studio Direct Payment

Not sure if this should be here or on the warnings board, but since I want to rant about it as well as warn I figured here is as good a place as any.

I was one of those who recently ordered free chocs and sock from studio and got an invoice through for the £3.99 postage charge.

I spent 3 days trying to get through on their quoted phone number to pay them by card and couldn't, so I phoned my bank to check if I could use the details supplied, to pay them through my intenet banking. No problem say bank, so this is what I did.

Just had letter in today from Studio asking for original £3.99 plus £14.95 admin charge plus .10p service charge. I phoned them and they tell me paying by phone banking or internet banking is not recommended as their systems are not set up properly for this method of payment and the funds can take 2 weeks to get to your account. In my case this meant the payment was late.

Needless to say I wasn't best pleased and asked why there was no mention of this on their paperwork. Was told....."we can't fit everything on there". Well surely important info such as this should be pointed out, considering it may well result in extra cost to the customer?

Anyway, I got the extra charges removed but for future use, make sure you only pay them by the included bank giro slip, or by phoning them! >:(
