I have always had stainless steel ones but wanted to try something different and was quite adamant on having a black sink as it just finishes off the whole kitchen. However I completely understand the points about function over style.

Everyone I know that has had a composite sinks said they are great, especially as the quality of them has got better over recent years. As mentioned above the only issues seems to be from water build-up which is not to much of an issue as I always wipe the sink down after washing anyway.

Now I just need to pick one!

I've got a black composite sink and I find that rubbing with olive oil will get rid of water marks.

:rotfl: You are correct in getting what you actually want, the pitfalls and advantages of each have been gone over, no one can chose for you as you have to live with it, (not meant in any sort of derogatory sense by the way)

Only the expense and the fact that I'd probably drop the iron through it,:D:D, would prevent me from going that way, a little water marking I could live with but my sinks have to be a little more "industrially rated".

And yes, we did break a "plastic" sink in the utility room by dropping an iron into it:o:o:o.
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed

I can think of a whole range of reasons to ask elsewhere rather than asking the manf;);)

Money saving tip. I have a Blanco Silgranit sink and it is excellent but they are grossly overpriced in the UK.

Cheapest UK price I could find was about £350 delivered. They are less than half this if bought from Germany, where they are made.

UK example web purchase with free delivery

German example website with 14.95 Euro delivery to UK

The German website is fully geared up for UK customers. When I bought the sink it was delivered within 3 days by UPS.

Obviously there is a higher risk if an item needs to be returned but for me the risk was worth taking given the massive saving.

There is always the risk that the the item arrives damaged but the product I got was factory sealed direct from Blanco and extremely well packed. I also unboxed it and carefully inspected it before signing for delivery.

The other potential snag in buying from abroad is if the item goes wrong during the warranty period. For a sink I considered this to be a negligible risk and Blanco has a worldwide manufacturer's warranty with UK office.
