I was wondering if there was a book in 'easy language' explaining the basics off accounts and how to do things like keeping records and any hints and tips.
I have had a look on play.com but there are so many and as they are expensive I want to get one that reads easily for my beginner level?

I'd go and look in the local library, see what I got on with and then see where I could buy it cheapest ...Signature removed for peace of mind0

Hi Sue, thanks for just had a quick look. As I have already started up it is the accounts and marketing side that any help would be much needed. Does it give plenty of info regarding this or is most of it about starting up?
I have been to my library and to be honest they didn't have very many, less than 10 and they were quite old.TopCashback £1792.63My Little World0 -
I think that thanks and the further questions should be directed at Tru not me ... of course being a good moneysaver you've already been to the library ...Signature removed for peace of mind0

Hiya Sue :hello:
Jasmin, I've been self-employed for a couple of years and still find the book useful. It starts with choosing a biz idea but then goes on to market research, name and image, business plans, financial forecasts, how to raise finance, tax, NI and VAT (the figures for those are from 2001, you'll have to take into account what they are now), how to price your work, marketing, publicity, accounts and book-keeping, credit control and expansion. There's examples of book-keeping, invoices and adverts. The second part of the book has loads of business profiles.Bulletproof0 -
