It was prior to the last round of price drops, i would wait until EDF announce their actual drop for gas prices (approx 10%) which is mid June. Meanwhile just use version 4 get the lowest recommended then check the tariff against your current edf tariff.0

Believe it or not, but British Gas is actually the cheapest supllier for Dual Fuel. On their CLICK 2 energy tariff, where you manage your account online.
U Switch is ok, but you still have to remember that they are like any other search engine type site... they are paid by some suppliers to reflect their products further up the list, and often they're not cheaper!
Hope this helps! :beer:0 -

EDF's Online V3 are as follows:-
Gas
1st 1465 kWh = 2.813p
Thereafter 2.017p
Electricity
1st 225 kWh = 11.91p
Thereafter = 6.97p
British Gas Click 2
Gas
1st 1143 kWh = 4.346p
Thereafter = 2.210p
Electricity
1st 225 kWh = 11.379p
Thereafter = 8.075p
EDF latest version Online 5
Gas
1st 1465 kWh = 3.424p
Thereafter 2.244p
Electricity
1st 225 kWh = 11.172p
Thereafter = 6.248p
Looks like Online V3 is far cheaper than BG and that after the 10% reduction in EDF's V5 this will be even more cheaper than BG for both Gas & Elec. Plus of course one must remember the absolutely diabolical customer service that BG inflict on their poor customers.

I have been with EDF for 18 months (I live in Edinburgh), I pay by direct debit and provide my reading online (I don't know what version I am on but it's an online option by monthly direct debit).
This is what I pay with EDF and it's lower than the above EDF prices:
EDF Electricity (Quarterly)
First 225 kwh @ 10.80p
Then 6.88p per unit
EDF Gas (Quarterly)
First 1465 kwh @ 2.55p
Then 1.816p per unit
Now an interesting point; I used both energyhelpline.com and uswitch.com to check whether I could save by switching to another supplier, neither energyhelpline nor uswitch had my online EDF scheme listed so I chose a nearest EDF scheme they had listed as my present supplier, both sites claimed I would save by switching to NPower or Powergen but when I did my own calculations using what I pay per unit with EDF and what I would pay to NPower or Powergen I discovered I would actually lose out by leaving EDF.
I suggest that you should all double check what these sites claim by doing your own calculations before you switch supplier. I am staying with EDF as they are the cheapest for me despite the likes of British Gas cutting their prices0 -
I did exactly the same last week.
The only real way to know if you will win or loose is to know your annual usage.
Put this into the database and compare what comes out with your existing tariff.
In my case like yours on the EDF online tariff everyone else is still more expensive dispite their much heralded price cuts.0 -

I strongly advise everyone not to just rely on figures provided by energyhelpline.com and uswitch.com but do your own calculation using your kwh usage and cost per kwh, you will need to know how much power you have used in the last year or even quarter but that's not a problem if you keep your bills or if you can check them online (which is what I did), it's worth spending the time to get your facts and figures right before you switch.
Despite all the negative publicity EDF have for not cutting prices their online direct debit package is cheaper than those who have recently cut their prices.:rolleyes2 (well it worked out cheaper for me, I used 2619 kwh of Electricity and 14813 kwh of Gas in the last year and EDF online with monthly direct debit gives the best price, this info is not available on energyhelpline.com and uswitch.com)
