Scart lead

I am a bit confused, there are so many scart leads on the market, cheapest I could buy at my local store is £1 and yet there are so many different types and some very expensive. I understand the quality of your scart lead could make a difference in the quality of your tv pictures. I am using very cheap from tesco, and I cannot tell the difference when watching TV. I am wondering when I do get a new Plasma or LCD TV whther I should buy the very expenisve ones? Thanks

The difference is in the quality of the screening, connecting wires & the plug. You will generally get a better picture with a better lead. The £1 lead will be adequate for plasma tv. I have read that there is no point in getting gold plated connectors unless the sockets are also of that standard.

Where scart leads are concerned in my view it is worth paying a bit more for a quality cable as the improvements can be dramatic.
However as previously posted if you are using an LCD or plasma TV you really should not be too concerned about scarts at all as they give the second worst picture quality (composite, yellow, red and white give the worst). I recently bought an LCD tv and even through the highly rated Thor scart leads (about £17 on Amazon) the picture quality was terrible.
I also read that with HDMI cables there is little discernible difference between a cheap and expensive cable as they are less prone to outside interference.Girls only want boyfriends who have great skills. You know, like nunchuck skills, bowhunting skills, computer hacking skills...0 -

Tesco sell quite good quality gold plated SCART Leads if that is what you are after. They are only 3 or 4 quid.0
