Furious!! Sports direct and PayPal

Am so mad right now and need a vent!!

January purchased a pair if trainers and a track suit for my 6 yr old DD. package arrived and only had track suit inside. Emailed SD as could not find a tel no three times no response. Eventually put in a claim with PP. they then concluded that in order for a partial refund I and to return trainers!!! phoned them up and they changed it to saying I had to sign an afadavit which after all the rigmarole of taking a pic of form from email then printing then signing and then taking a pic of that then uploading. I get their response today (from 2nd feb of submitting) can i please return trainers for refund.:eek:

Straight on phone. No don't have to do that. Please send the track suit back and they will refund the total order. !!!!!!!! Am so annoyed. She has worn the track suit for Pe and it has to be returned with labels and unworn obviously. So basically SD can send me a package with what the hell they want missing and I have no say and have to lose money. I'm talking about £33.99 for trainers which for a 6 yr old I think is a lot to lose out on

What do I do. PP have basically said tough!!

I am a genuinely honest person and am gutted!

Thanks have wrote this to warn others who maybe aren't aware of how things can go so wrong for buyer.

Do as they ask, and return the track suit. Surely Paypal will action the refund when the item is shown as delivered back to the seller.

It's not your fault it's taken so long to finalise.

Try complaining to Sports Direct on Twitter and/or Facebook, I'm sure they wouldn't like social media to know about their poor customer service.

Failing that write a letter addressed to the Chairman at their head office address explaining the situation and asking for a refund or your trainers.

Perhaps Sports Direct - sportsdirect.com may be alerted to this forum and decide to help you out.

  • I can honestly say that Sports Direct is one of my least favourite shops. Whenever I've tried getting any shoes in there, you just can't find a member of staff and when you do, they invariably say it's not their department. I've even had a time when I did find someone and they got me the shoes I wanted. They didn't fit so I asked for another size and they went to get them, and that was the last I ever saw them.

I think they must deliberately employ the most incompetent people around, or maybe I'm just unlucky with my local store.

I am having problems with them as well, I have emailed them and have no reply so now I have taken to Twitter to get a reply, their service is awful.

The chances are if you keep naming Sports Direct - sportsdirect.com in this thread it is more likely to be found. You may find that Sports Direct's customer service department (if they have one) wouldn't like the adverse publicity.

  • Sports Direct are famous for abysmal service so I can't see them being too helpful...but you never know!
