Sent an e-mail to Morris housing company. The automated reply came back with this lovely quote:
Unsure what my electric oven has to do with the manufacturer and me if goes wrong. My contract is with the housing company as it is them who it was bought from. I swiftly replied and told them to contact their legal team to revise the Sales of Goods Act and put it right.
Please note: Any issues with appliances ie: washing machine, dishwasher, oven, hob, fridge or freezer, must reported directly to the manufactuer by the homeowner. All contact details will be found in the instruction manuals in your move in folder.

Overreaction much?
Yes, your contract is with the housing company, but it is often quicker to cut out the middle man and report the fault directly to the manufacturer. If you do not receive a suitable remedy, you can then assert your rights against the seller.0 -

Quite agree, the op gives of the impression they would storm into a store with the wrong information demanding they are right

So lets put it like this.
Morris build homes. Did they actually charge you for the item? or was it included.
So Morris will contact manufacture, who will say right we will come out. When can we come.
Mossis say er, hang on I will contact the housholder. They then waste time trying to contact you. To then go back and say XYZ. manafacture says.. Sorry can't do that time, how about....
And so on...
Or, You ring manafacture. Arange time and day. They come out job sorted....
Now which is easier.Never ASSUME anything its makes a>>> A55 of U & ME <<<0 -

Did you pay separately for the white goods or were they included in the price? If the latter you are far better registering all your white goods with manufacturers, you then register the date of purchase of the new build and get the full warranty starting from that date.
If you rely on the developer they will have to contact the manufacturer, show the date of THEIR purchase order which is weeks or months before you actually bought the house and used the white goods. So you only get a short manufacturers warranty, anything after that you have to wrangle with the developer to pay for an engineer.
Remember under SOGA the retailer has the choice of repairing, refunding or replacing, they could choose to refund what you actually paid not what you think the value is .... better a repair or replacement under manufacturer's warranty, right?Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0
