Commuter Car Recommendation
Comments
-
Astra will share the commuting. Pug is now old and time to change am looking to get both cars to share the commute and take care of additional family driving needs.
Astra estate to be the large family car for long trips, luggage carrying etc and something smaller for other journeys plus economical.
What MPG is the astra doing on the commute runs?
As you go smaller to get the MPG you tend to lose the comfort for the long runs, also city economy often does not translate in to economy at motorway speeds.
Why not just rack the miles up on one car0 -
Astra is doing circa 50mpg on the computer but less than that in reality. I have been doing this run since 6 Sep 2005 and tend to measure mpg on how many miles against what I actually put in the tank, ie, I fill up each time and do the sums from there.
Usually do 3 runs (450 miles) and then refuel. Astra is now on 87k and want to try and keep it going longer. It is also 1.9CDTi SRi so occasionally get to enjoy it too as it packs a punch at 150 BHP.0
