i'm looking for a week ski holiday somewhere with good/decent snow for two people, sometime before the season ends. hoping to be able to do the whole trip for 500 pounds all in - is that realistic?
and does anyone have any ideas as to where to look other than the big obvious websites (crystal, iglu, thomson, etc).
Any help/pointers appreciated

I'm looking for same and have come across a few around £200 pp to France flying from Manchester on 16th March which is date we want. That's for self catering apartments and on top you have ski passes and equipment hire.0

200pp is pretty damn good! is that for a big group? found quite a few deals for 4s and 6s and prices pretty much double for 2s0

neilsen today have a week for 4 in studio apt in Les Arcs flying from Man on 16th March for £150pp. Of course you need to add in ski hire (unless you have your own) and lift passes (£220pp) but these are local costs that you will always have.0

Hmmm, still works for me. Anyway as well as method poor johno offers you could also go to Thomas Cook web site, select Ski, then put in on the left panel, 4 adults, 1 week, Manchester, France and self catering.0

But he only wants it for two people - it's always cheaper for 4 sc than 2 - it can be difficult to find SC for 2 cheaply as most apartments are for more people.
£500 all in - do you mean for both of you because I think that would be almost impossible bearing in mind the lift passes would be £150 each! So that would only mean £100 each for flights and accommodation! If you mean £500 each it's doable but not easy if you want ski/boot hire too which is probably at least another £80 or so leaving only £270 for accommodation.
Most of the cheaper holidays are to Bulgaria or Andorra which may be ok if you're a beginner but if you're more advanced, you'd probably want France Austria or Italy and these bigger resorts are more expensive. We found that prices dropped about 2 weeks before we travelled - but as it's a good season for snow, I don't think there's as many bargains as in some years.0
