Except when your FREE 1 year runs out and your 10's of gigabtyes or hundreds risk getting lost if you don't then pay to carry on using it.

It won't accept a folder on my NAS raid as valid and I don't keep anything of importance on machine hard drives. Hopefully I'll be able to cancel.

They closed the account pretty much immediately. Now I guess I just need to watch the PayPal account...

okay its just box standrad online cloud storage, non the less i am happy. I have backup around 170GB so far and going strong, only another 650GB to backup, i'll do the rest bit by bit as i dont want my ISP to have a fit.

Overall not bad for 1 free year then £20 each year.

I'll agree it's good value if you can backup your data but in my case it won't do that - it did mention FTP but I didn't investigate that as if it doesn't happen automatically the chances are it won't get done.
  • It does sound like a good deal. Has anyone managed to backup files from a NAS yet?

Okay i contacted their sales team and they advised to backup NAS drives it costs £30 per year plus you have to have their Pro based services as well, their Pro services also has support for FTP.

Still not fussed as i am backing up all my stuff for FREE.

I like how i can stream my films and music on my mobile when im out and about.

I use dropbox and it works for me

Synchronised folders on all my computers, pictures taken on phone automatically synchronise

Upload to dropbox from any computer

No, I don't trust the security, but doubt I would trust the security on any cloud storage. Any crucial files are zipped and password protected

I suppose the FBI or some similar organisation could crack the password

Dropbox v expensive 100GB for $9.99 per month.

At the end of the day nothing is 100% secure but I doubt any hacker would want to waste their time in breaching home user accounts when they generally tend to hit the larger companies.
