  • Weirdly I actually uninstalled Firefox and Chrome. I actually only have explorer at the moment??

    I can see that now.

    Run the ms fixit.

    When you uninstall Firefox or Chrome your settings remain in your profile.
  • Ok is it normal for the fix-it to get stuck and not move for a while? Or am I just being impatient?

    It should be pretty quick. If it appears stuck, cancel it.

    I've noticed something else in the logs, so let me know when it's finished/cancelled.

    Something's preventing the key changes/deletions by AdwCleaner. It may also be interfering with the IE reset.
  • It keeps getting stuck so I've cancelled it.

    I think I see the problem - missed it at first..

    Download OTM by Old Timer from the link below and save it to your Desktop.

    LINK
    • Right click OTM.exe and choose Run as Administrator to run it.
    • Agree to any UAC prompt
    • Copy the following code inside the codebox below. Do not include the word Code:
      :commands
      [CREATERESTOREPOINT]

      :Processes
      Killallprocesses

      :reg
      [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
      "SCheck"=-
      "SSync"=-

      :files
      C:\Users\Caitlin\AppData\Roaming\SCheck
      C:\Users\Caitlin\AppData\Roaming\SSync
      C:\Users\Caitlin\AppData\Roaming\Common

      :commands
      [CREATERESTOREPOINT]
      [REBOOT]

    • Return to OTM, right click in the Paste instructions for Items to be Moved window (under the yellow bar) and choose Paste.
    • Push the large MoveIt! button.
    • Click OK to the prompt
    • OTM may ask to reboot the machine. Please Allow it to do so if asked.
    • The report should appear in Notepad after the reboot. Copy/paste the contents of that report back here in your next reply.
