I cut my finger at work because of poor safety standards and lack of training, so I decided to claim and went with Claims Direct on a "No win, No fee" deal.
A chap came round, and blatantly miss sold me PPI, saying that it was standard for such claims, by this time I had left the job and was unemployed. He never explained that it was optional etc.
Are you sure it was PPI that he sold and not some arrangement to do with the no win, no fee. A lot of those involve an insurance policy. This is about 10 years ago.
so a good many years before regulation.Do I have grounds for a miss sold PPI claim since I did not pay anything out but did sign a PPI agreement that was miss sold to me, How would I go about it?
If you didnt pay anything then you didnt have PPI. I suspect you are getting your products mixed up.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -
This is amazing.
You've paid nothing but want to claim it was mis-sold?
GENIUS0 -
I did not pay anything out but did sign a PPI agreement that was miss sold to me,
As Dunstonh says, the financial product you describe does not even sound like it was PPI.
You've paid nothing but want to claim it was mis-sold?0 -
Have I just wondered into the twilight zone . . .0 -
Cheers for the help. It was 10 years ago and I think I may be getting things mixed up!
As for the sarcasm, it's great to see people ridiculed for asking questions about things they do not know.
Thanks, I will definitely post again.0 -
Mixed up or not, you said
"Do I have grounds for a miss sold PPI claim since I did not pay anything out but did sign a PPI agreement that was miss sold to me"
So you're clearly saying on one hand you paid nothing, but on the other you want to 'claim'.0 -
I was mistaken, on all counts, MEA CULPA.
I do not possess the financial acumen of some of the members on here nor indeed their in depth knowledge, however stick me on battlefield anywhere in the world and I can hold my own.
To be ridiculed for not knowing something in my book is rather lame and immature and frankly stinks of a "this is a local shop for local people" attitude.
This is certainly no way of treating a "Newbie" but hey ho, am I that bothered?
It's other people that will take one look and think otherwise of joining and posting.0 -
"Sadly new posters seem to be treated harshly more often than they used to. Often it's because they ask questions that have already been asked, or post in the "wrong place".
There's also sometimes a "this is our board" attitude which seems to not want new posters coming in and ruining a pre-established clique."0 -
It's 'blah' with an h0

Ask someone you know to read what you wrote in the very first post without giving them any more information that what's in the post and see if they understand it.
I read it twice and still don't understand what you're explaining
As far as I can gather a no win no fee lawyer/person sold you some PPI which you didn't pay for which just doesn't make any sense to me at all.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0
