Double glazing in Chester - wood v pvc Help

Hi,
I presently have wooden framed double glazing which utilised "Fairmitre" plastic joints:huh: Well they have passed their sell by date (30 yrs)and new windows are needed. I have always considered wood over pvc due to my original time as a joiner way back in time (didnt last long tho). I am trying to get some quotes but see that a firm called "Timber Windows.com" provide something near to my taste but look like they will be pricey. I am keen on sash type.
I also have a query about a back window which I think would be better replaced by a French window/door. Does it add to house value?
Her indoors has mixed feelings - - - mostly about any of my ideas:rotfl:
Any ideas please.
Thanks.
Stuart.

Does it add to house value? Probably not....but you will get more enjoyment/use out of it than whatever it costs.Hi,

Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.
