Changing energy suppliers

Hi quick question.

I'm on a DMP and my gas and electric deal is coming to an end just wondering can I change suppliers? I know they credit check!

  • I'm in an IVA, and have just switched.

No bother at all. (Now looking forward to mt free case of wine!!!).

    You should be OK.
  • The "credit checks" for utilities and mobile phones I believe are reduced to checking you are on the electoral roll. Utilities are bills you have to pay, and enforceable, they can also stop the supply if arrears become too huge so they have the upper hand so as its been said you'll be fine.

The only issues you would have would be in applying for a credit card- which would be declined because its an unsecured debt with little power in the hands of creditors.

I believe thats the why- if that helps!
now debt free and determined to maintain good spending habits and build savings
  • Excellent cheers guys
