Cancelled pet insurance!

Money was very tight in December so cancelled my 8 year old dachsund's insurance. (I had never had a need to claim on it)
BIG mistake, 3 weeks ago she displayed disc problems when I came home from work (lame left leg and did a big wee while making a fuss of me)
Panic stations - took her immediately to the vets my mother (who has a dachsund which had a spinal op) has used in the past (they have a myelogram xray machine). She was kept in overnight and xrayed the following morning. (iodine is injected into the spine)
The vet advised that she stay another night for observation.
I paid the bill when I collected her (£245.00)
I was told she had calcified discs and 6 weeks (strict) crate rest would be all the treatment she would need. (which we are doing)
Now for my dilema. There is another vets I have used in the past - 15 miles away who also have a myelogram xray machine.
My previous dachsund 8 years ago ruptured a disc high up in her neck and was instantly paralazed. She was operated on but tragically I had to have her put down 3 days later on the vets advice.
I have taken out pet insurance with a different insurer tonight as I know I got off lightly this time. (dachsunds are prone to back problems).
Technically I am committing fraud as the small print says 'it will not cover existing conditions', If she needed an op in the future it would be out of the question (£1500 + after care)
What would you do?

You won't be able to claim for any back problems0
-
I am going to use a different vets so my dog is unknown to them.0

Not advocating fraud and I think you would be taking a huge risk..
You would also need I suspect to ensure no records are transferred between vets.0 -
Try all you like, won't work
Did you move and change names? Insurance companies do share info, I doubt there will be a lot of jill36's with dauhounds living at you address
I never made a claim from my previous insurance company, so there is no record of back problems. Will be moving to my previous vets with a dog never seen by them.0 -
They will probably know if something is a new condition or not, Vets aren't stupid & they will have info from previous insurers etc0

As I said before I never once claimed on her insurance -0 -
So you can't afford the dog you already have and are thinking its perfectly acceptable to defraud an insurance company, yet you are happy to go and buy another pup?
I'm out of here0 -

Lack of funds was a temporary thing. So I am now able to continue paying pet insurance. The malshi would be a playmate for my dog.0 -

I would not commit fraud, and I wouldn't get another dog if I couldn't afford to pay for the upkeep of the one I already had.
IlonaI love skip diving.0
