Any advice on fabric settees that are easy to clean?

We need a new settee but with two kids & a cat, need something that we will be able to get the odd mark off.
I want fabric (leather's too cold for me).
We quite fancy a Next settee, (the Ledbury in the lavendar colour) but I wondered if anyone has any experience of how easy these are to keep clean. Some of the fabrics are scotch guarded I know, but the staff were useless on advising how it should be cleaned.

Thanks for any help

Lavender colour with kids and cats

You want a colour that will hide the dirt.

We have an Ikea Ektorp sofa and I've shoved the covers in the wash before now. They take ages to dry and generally need ironing to get all the creases out but they do come up lovely and clean.
  • We have Next's Garda sofa in Mink, which still looks like new 3 years later, I believe the fabric is scotchguarded. I would recommend going for a scotchguarded one if its an option for the Ledbury. We had one major spill on ours and it just wiped straight off.

Btw, we have 2 cats, a teenager and a part time 11 year old!
  • Hintza, the Lavender is actually quite darkish.... other than that there seem to be loads of beiges around which I think could show the dirt much more...

Ditto with Seraphina.....we got an Ikea Ektorp corner sofa.

I researched and it was the only sofa I could find that had totally removable covers, the rest just seemed to have removable cushion covers. The Ikea covers say dry clean but I've washed quite a few times and they look great but do require stiff ironing.

As a parent of 5 children (2 toddlers but the teenagers are far messier!) it was a no-brainer. And when we got a puppy I felt sure she would one day attempt to climb on the sofa when muddy - although she is yet to try this one.
My other option was to get covers made for whatever sofa we bought but they can cost as much as the sofa!!

Ektorp sofas did look a little worn in Ikea but ours has done well. 4 years old and only one cushion sags a little - I blame the middle child who has a habit of jumping on it.
You can buy new covers in lots of colours and patterns should you want a change and discontinued lines sell very cheaply.
