Do we need a FAQ section for Compers Chat?

I'm sure I'm not the only one to notice the same questions keep appearing in Compers Chat ...

So, should there be a FAQ for random comping questions?

I'm thinking of ones such as:

How many times can I enter an ITV comp?

Does it make a difference if I enter an ITV comp online?

How do I retweet a twitter competition?

Is it worth doing daily competitions?

How do daily competitions work?

I've been suspended from FB/Twitter - what have I done wrong? How do I fix it?

I don't want to duplicate what's in the FAQ on the comps board, but if anyone thinks this is worth a go then please post any other questions (I only checked back 4 pages for the examples posted above) and I'll have a go at this if it's worth it.

Ooh, yes please! I don't think I could bear typing out how many comps I enter a day again but I would like to help new compers. Having a FAQ to direct them to would be ideal. Good thinking, fellow Yorkshire person

But, even with the comping guide that is already on here, i still see people asking how to get started and other questions that are covered in the comping guide lol.

completely agree - you could also mention about doing a search before asking a question as the same questions get asked again and again ! I get sick of seeing posts such as 'Is it worth entering the dailies - does anyone ever win!?', 'Does sharing with myself only on FB disqualify my entry?' - to name a few.

I think that is an excellent idea. I don't see why it should not be made a sticky at the top of the board. I know that we are not allowed any more stickies on the main board, but I think compers corner should be allowed another.

Even if the answers are just linked to the many threads already on here.

Totally agree, brilliant idea. It won't stop every question but it does get a bit monotonous seeing the same questions over and over again. I think newbies would find it really helpful, as long as it wasn't full of chat as well as useful answers.

Thanks for your thoughts, everyone. I was thinking, at some unearthly hour this morning (insomnia is driving me mad), that if I made a FAQ would I be taking away the 'chat' element? I mean, Compers Chat was set up for people to ask questions - so would I be taking that away from people?

If a FAQ thread was made it'd be for questions and answers only - no chat

It's a nice idea, maybe collaborate with VelvetGlove and renew/update the original guide with the generic newbie CCC questions, then whenever a question gets posted which you know is in the guide answer the post with the link to the guide and a friendly "have a read of this" style post? That way the question asker might even be inclined to read the guide...
