advice please on apcoa ticket from work

Hi everyone,

I got a ticket today at work (a hospital) from APCOA. Basically I was parked in a staff permit area without a permit (I cannot get a permit as apparently I do not live far enough away). Anyway how I usually manage this is that my partner usually drops me off as I work 7.30am - 8pm, however this weekend he had to go abroad at short notice for a family funeral. As it was Sunday there was no public transport to get me to work on time. (And I stupidly hoped as it was Sunday I might not get a ticket).

My question is; should I a) respond to the company explaining this, and hope they let me off b) pay the ticket (which I feel extremely unhappy about as I was only trying to do my job...! and they wont even give me a permit). c) ignore it.

thanks

    Option C,
My wife works at a hospital, a colleague got a ticket from UKPC for not displaying her pass, she just ignored and eventually they gave up.

    DEFINITELY NOT B!!!

It's (c) in your case. See this other thread from today where the OP has been advised to 'make an offer of the parking fee only' (without identifying themselves to the PPC as a staff member at the Hospital) OR ignore:

    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4463557

But your case doesn't have the 'offer' option really does it. SO IGNORE IT!
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

No it will not affect your credit file at all, they would have to take you to court , win the case, you refuse to pay the judgement within 28 days. This company don't do court, they do threatograms, and so does their powerless agents.
When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

OOOOooooooooh Absolutely IGNORE the scammers :money:
PPCs say its carpark management, BPA say its raising standards..... we all know its just about raking in the revenue.
