anti barking sensors for dogs - do they work?

Have a yappy dog next door who could bark for 4 hrs at a time before neighbours would think about taking it inside. Thinking about getting one of those anti barking dog sensors that give out some sort of signal/high pithced noise that supposedly stops them barking. Just wondering has anyone had any luck with these?

No experience with them, but I'd be worried that all animals in the area would suffer through hearing this high pitched noise.

Rather than torturing the poor dog with high pitched sounds, why not TALK and COMMUNICATE your problems with the neighbour?

If they still continue, report to police for anti-social noise, council for a complaint and RSPCA.

Remember that the dog is an animal that won't really understand that it needs to stop. It's owners are at fault here, not the dog. They might not even know it's happening if there out!

Yes they can work. I would be more concerned that your neighbors are leaving a Dog outside to bark for hours in this whether. Welfare concerns aside, as I dont know the Dogs situation, try talking to your neighbors and suggest a bark collar. They can be very effective if used properly and is better than a sensor for the whole area to hear! But really, a good should not be left outside for that many hours.
