British Gas Prepay meter in credit

Options
Just registered online with BG, have been a customer for abour 4 months. Was just registering to find out my tariff as it was costing me an absolute fortune for gas and was planning on switching. Anyway, logged on and it says I'm almost £300 in credit. Will I be able to get this refunded and how has it managed to take that much extra money off me when I'm on a prepayment meter?

Thank you for reading.

its not a true credit, and once it bills you it will be swallowed
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

No its not a true credit. what happens is when all the correct reads update on BG system a bill will be produced internally like a credit meter. So no your not in credit. Only Swalec prepayment meters can aquire credit. And the only way to have physical debt on a prepayment meter is if your supplier applies a debt from perhaps an old address etc. Hope that help :)
