Mortgage for a Concrete Construction Property?

First-post newbie here - was just browsing before spotting this thread...
I have a non-standard property (clay, stud and timber) and the Cheshire gave me a decent fixed rate mortgage (fixed for 25 years at 4.99%, though rates will have increased now and will be something over 5% - can't remember what the fees were, but they weren't unreasonable). I found them through the Period Property web where forum members named the Cheshire as one of several building societies to consider various non-standard construction buildings.0 -

Call Ekins Surveyors as well and ask them which lenders lend on them, or have lent on them in your neighborhood. Plus go to a broker because some of the lenders mentioned above are subprime lenders and you dont really want those unless it cannot be helped at all.0

My mortgage is with Birmingham Midshires, part of HBOS. Build of property was not an isue, however credit rating was:eek:0
