I'm looking into opening a new current account and savings account with Skipton as i heard they can offer discharged bankrupts mortgages easier then most other BS / Banks.
If you have an SBS account then please let me know how you find them, customer service wise, Online account managabilty wise, If you have had poor credit in the past did they accept you for an mortgage, etc etc
thanks

I am not aware that Skipton BS offers current accounts.
I have been a long term saver and had no issues with it. However, in recent times I have found its interest rates uncompetitive and have very still deposited with it.0 -
Ok thanks, I could always stay with my current bank but use Skipton for a mortgage, Im not too fussed about interest rates, I'm just bothered about gettting a mortgage accepted with them in the future so i need to set up some kind of account with them.0

....I'm just bothered about gettting a mortgage accepted with them in the future....
Don't make any rash decisions - - you don't know whether Skipton will offer you the best mortgage deal "in the future". I don't actually know whether they do offer any "save to buy a house" type accounts, but be weary of any deal that commits you months or years in advance.0 -

I won't be using a save to buy account type, that already failed with nationwide, I now do not believe in these stupid accounts. i will now be saving up 18-20% deposit over the next few years and will try again.
The only reason i'm thinking of going with Skipton is because they seem to allow discharged bankrupts more then others. I'm not bothered about the best deal available as i cannot get those deals. this has become apparent to me over the years.0 -
Well it seems like it's a choice between Skipton Building Society or Yorkshire building Society.... Which one does everyone think is best for my needs... Discharged bankrupt mortgage.0
