Hi,
I have been asked to send in my birth certificate as confirmation of my identity by SFE.
I do not have my original copy so will they accept a copy from my local registry office?
Also, do I have to have anyone sign this who is a person of authority such as when you apply for a passport?
Thanks in advance

When they say origional, they just mean the copy from the Registry Office and not a photocopy, so that will be fine.
I think I provided a passport number to confirm my identity online. Is that not an option?"On behalf of teachers, I'd like to dedicate this award to Michael Gove and I mean dedicate in the Anglo Saxon sense which means insert roughly into the anus of." My hero, Mr Steer.0 -

My passport is not current so this wouldn't be acceptable.
Would my employer be ok to sign the birth certificate?
If so, what details would he have to put on there aside from the signature?, address?0 -
You must send the certificate with this form or it won't be accepted http://www.direct.gov.uk/prod_consum_dg/groups/dg_digitalassets/@dg/@en/@educ/documents/digitalasset/dg_174676.pdf
It states on there what sort of person needs to sign. One of the teachers at your old school might do it for you? Or any family friend in a "professional" position.Sealed Pot Challenge #239
