Is it possible to replace the battery? It seems to be a sealed unit which is just stupid imo.

That's for the 10.1, will not fit the original tab.

I'm assuming it's the original P1000/P1010 model in which case you're correct it's not a user replaceable battery (which I also agree is stupid, really annoys me how many devices have the battery sealed in), the first couple of minutes of this video show how to get the back off and access the battery:

Enough posts on Google to say its worth a go rather than throw away .
