would I be able to keep my job??

Hi there, I am new to this board. I am wondering about benefits if I split up with my husband (which is definitely on the cards)
The thing is I work 12 and a half hours a week, and pay pretty much all of my wages to my childminder. I can't claim this back from child tax credits as I work less than 16 hours a week. I like my job, but if I left my husband and went on to income support, would I still ba able to keep my job, whilst still paying my childminder, or would I have to leave that too?
Thanks
Annie

couldnt you up the hours to 16 or even find another job for the extra 4 hours?
You would be able to keep your job but you would only get to keep £20 of your wages on top of IS amount.
If i were you i'd really try and make up to 16 hours as you'll be able to keep your cild in childcare, plus you'll be better off too.:j Baby boy Number 2, arrived 12th April 2009!:j0 -
thanks astonsmummy. I can't increase my hours in my current job, as it would mean someone else cutting theirs. I would have to find a different job I suppose.0
