British Gas Problems

having spent 9 months battling with British Gas I have to say the only way to get your money back is to threaten with the small claims court. Only correspond with them by email or by letter as phone calls dont seem to get anything done. I would also suggest contacting Energywatch so that you get a complaints number and make sure you copy Energywatch with any correspondence you send to BG. If you do call British Gas ask to speak to the senior complaints team and make sure you get the persons name and number.

After 9 months I finally got the credit for my gas bill repaid (after the threat of the small claims court - would have cost £30 which I guess they would have had to have repaid me). I was also finally able to pay my electricity as they sent me a correct bill but due to the fact they had messed up they voided the account and paid me £118! - I guess the outcome was fair but it was hard work getting it sorted and I wouldnt go back to them.
