hdtv and xbox360 help

got a new telly and connected the xbox360 iv got picture but no sound on the back of the telly the white and red plugs are for audio out anybody help me i dont have a clue

okyou will probably have the component cable which is the RGB (red green blue) and the audio red/white leads

the rgb is the picture its capable of analogue HD as the 360 does not have a digital output (hdmi)

you will also need to connect the red and white leads for your audio but these will need to be the same connection as the RGB leads
ie if you have more than 1 socket for the red/white make sure they are fitted into the correct ones

im guessing your not useing a hd telly?
make sure you connect the cable properly and flick the little switch on the 360 cable.

edit: i just seen you are on a hd telly lol
ok do you have a red green and blue sockets on the tv? if so use them and flick the switch to hdtv,
if not then you should get a vga cable and connect that way.

edit#2:: there should also be a menu on you tv that allows you to tweak the settings.

i got the sound on by connecting the red and white plug to my stereo cant find a audio in on my telly just audio out
and i put the red green and blue into the right plugs so now i got sound through the stereo which is good thanks for the help
