Car application impact on credit rating

Hiya,

Not sure if this is the correct place to post, apologies if not.

Yesterday, my husband was accepted for a lease on a new car. His credit rating is vg. However, after reviewing our budget many times today,we've decided to go for a cheaper option than the deal he was offered yesterday. No paperwork was signed yesterday but obviously a credit check was done.

If he applies for the other (cheaper) car soonish, is the fact he's had 2 credit checks so closely together going to impact his score and therefore the likelihood of him being accepted for the cheaper car?
