Car Insurance - working in Europe

I live and work in Europe but am a UK citizen with a UK car (temporarliy registered in the country I reside - Belgium). Does anyone know of any UK company that will me insure me? I know of only one - Norwich Union, but the premiums are ridiculous (900 pounds per year fully comp - which for me would be 300 if I lived in UK). Belgium policies won't cover fully comp on cars over 4 yrs old, and their 3rd party fire theft are nearly as expensive anyway. Has anyone else encountered this?

Hi - try alessie.com based in Amsterdam.They will cover cars up to 7 years old for comprehensive cover and major on customers working or holidaying temporarily across Europe.I dont know how their prices are but they come highly recommended by the OZ and NZ visitors to Europe.

Norwich Union also underwrite other companies car insurance products it might be worth looking around as often their prices can differ from Norwich Union's. I think they do Barclays car insurance, have a look at https://www.barclays.co.uk/carinsurance. I've got their home insurance, they tried selling me car insurance as well seemed a good deal but I wasn't in the market at the time.
