Calls From 08443762820

Options
I am being plagued by calls from 08443762820

Checking on the web reveals that this is one of these:
  • Absolute Solar and Wind
  • Home Energy Advisory Service
  • High Energy Advisory Service
ie selling solar panels (shades of SAS FIRE AND SECURITY reappearing here).

I am still TPS registered but to rub salt into it, their latest crafty game is to call you but only for a couple of rings then rely upon you being daft enough to re-call them back.

So they get to sell to you whilst you pay for the privilege.

What a bunch of crooks!
I am a cow so cannot speak Bullshine but I do recognise its smell when I come upon it.

If the number displays on your phone, just ignore it. Calling them back will just encourage them.

save the number as spam 1, spam 2 and so on.
So you know to ignore them.
Answering registers you with the bot as a mug that picks the phone up to cold callers.

Added to my blacklist on truecall just in case. I use to add numbers on my landline phone (Panasonic) as above name them as spam. On phone I could allocate a ring tone so I know not to pick up. Still annoying these rogue companies that are still allowed to operate

  • All these scummy scumbag cold callers really pee me off! Have you read the post about nusiance callers ... ? It's a proper vent by someone at the end of their tether. Entitled 'is anyone ever going to stop these spam calls' or something like that...I know how they feel ... we have no landline at the mo, but do have 5 mobiles between us all, and I do NOT miss the crappy little spam calls to our home number.

If you are polite the first time and point out you are renting/ live in a high rise flat with a flat roof/ other plausible reason why purchasing their product is impossible they often take you off the telemarketing list. Also point out that you are registered with TPS.

I got one of these recently from number 0000-0000000.
  • Join the TPS - it is supposed to block such calls. Not saying it does but as it is free surely worth your while registering?

Next, report the number to the Information Commissioner. There is a form that you can fill in to report these - the IC is the person responsible for telecomms misbehaving.

Why on earth would you call them back? If it's important people leave a message.

He is registered with TPS. Which is universally acknowledged to be failing. Even by the boss.
