Converting roman blinds to curtains

Is it possible to use the same piece of fabric that makes up my roman blind to make curtains? I don't want blinds due to the safety risks involved with my kids. Might it just be cheaper to buy new curtains? Is it the change in poles that would actually cost the most?
Thanks

That depends really, if you are planning to use on the same window you will not have enough material as you need 1 and a half to 2 times the width of the window for curtains and blinds tend to be either exact size or slightly smaller.
If you are fixed on taking the blinds down and want to reuse the material on a smaller window, then you can try the following:
unpicking the seams, (use a seam ripper) washing an pressing the material, fitting with header tape.
The result will depend on.
Type of material - if the material pulls easily the stitching line may be very apparent.
How long the blinds have been up, they may be faded in bits and therefore uneven when the material is pulled out.
Personally I would either make them safer there are videos on youtube that show you how to do this

or put them on Gumtree and buy new curtains0
