seller pretending to vanish when I asked for combined P&P

basically, what happened is, I won 3 small craft items (wristband/ beads) in auctions listed at 99p and post given as £1.65 second class standard post for each of them essentially it can go as large letter for 69p, but the postal total comes to £4.95, I asked if they would combined the 3 items in one packet (and I don't think that is unreasonable) but that was 3 days ago and they haven't replied. they would be £4 in profit, so I only asked for it to be sent under one package, but when they didn't respond to my request for an invoice looks like I am going to have to pay it to avert a strike, (not had any invoice even for one of the items yet) , and if they opened an unpaid item case, would that be 3 cases and then , 3 strikes given to me ?
I know I am obligated to pay postage charges shown ,but any reasonable seller surely wouldnt charge the sum thrice for lightweight small items, and would be helpful to buyer to even knock 50p off or upgrade it to first class for me, all this silence is annoying! Must be NOT combining the post obviously!

Did they state In auction they would combine postage?
If you bought the items from 3 separate sellers you would have to pay the postage stated.
If I was the seller I personally would combine postage but the seller does NOT have to combine postage?
In the sellers eyes you bid and won the items and you knew the postage before hand. If you dont pay the price you agreeded to when you bid then they may open a not paid case against you.
In my opinion I don't think the seller has done anything wrong.:heart2:Mummy to a beautiful little girl:heart2:

Afaird your supposed to ask before ordering but....
You could be akward like me and pay for them one by one once thier sent.... ;DPeople don't know what they want until you show them.0 -
Looks like the seller is making their profit via the P&P. You should have checked about combined P&P before ordering.
You could email politely again and ask to combine the postage, or if they can't, to cancel the order as you think the postage is too expensive, but the seller doesn't have to - you did commit to buy the items after all.
It's then up to you if you leave low DSR for p&p and communication.0 -
Well I agree that you are supposed to pay for post , and it just is a sore point as I as a seller know that my stars would get wrecked and prob get left negatives for overpriced post
....in a way ebay sellers can reduce and combine post out of kindness and not anything else, and I know the business argos on ebay dont combine post and i think its £3.95 each buy, and yet some business sellers can get a big item couriered dpd free the next day with free P&P, postage cost always puts me off buying
Take for example though, browsing some used books at amazon although the item comes up " like new" and is selling for just 1p , post for each book is about £2.80 and because it is run by amazon they make the rule so two pence for 2 books and £5.60 for post.
ps I am going to take that idea, I will pay for the items individually, they have 100% feedback , and in answer to why I didnt email to ask in advance, no I didnt ask them before bidding for combined post if I won, cos the items were bought on impulse in closing mins in my bed on the kindle fire at 1am LOL !0 -

"Free" P&P is not actually "free" :wall::wall::wall::wall::wall::wall::wall::wall::wall::wall::wall::wall::wall::wall::wall::wall::wall:

Then you should not have made any assumptions. For all you know, the items could be pre-packed and will be sent individually anyway. They deem him their worst enemy who tells them the truth. -- Plato0 -
The items are personalised so the seller must communicate to me to find out what type of beads I wanted on the bracelet, and are made for you, when you add message to seller at paypal.
I done what no4 post said and paid one item on its own, got instant reply when I was asleep ,they maybe work nightshifttelling me I will be getting a discount of £1 off, they will invoice me for the other ones ,true to their word, the invoice has since arrived, and items all paid for and info given about the style of beads, lol, yipee
Issue has been resolved now, and thanks for the replies people muchos grassibums x0 -
I think that sellers who do not combine when it is obviously possible to do so risk their stars and their accounts, they cannot be made to combine P and P though once the auction ends.
However, I really must question a buyers understanding of 'free postage'. I sincerely hope the post above is tongue in cheek and that it is not generally believed that free postage costs a seller nothing:eek:
I am a business TRS and a few of my items are free postage, I would like to assure everyone here in MSE and generally that I DO NOT get my postage for free, I pay exactly what any casual sellers pay. I don't even have the volume to get any RM contract, so my £5.30 standard parcels cost me exactly that, no discount and certainly not free.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
