i am having trouble with connecting my daughters laptop to our wireless home network, there is no problem with the network as other devices can connect to it no problem.
the laptop is running xp pro, and has been working fine up until this morning, i have tried to repair the connection, disable the adapter and enabe again, and even tried to set up a new connection, but for some reason it cannot connect to the network.
i have tried to do a system restore, but this has failed on 3 seperate dates, and i dont know what else to do.
in network connections i have 3 items,
1. wireless network connection
2. Local area connection
3. 1394 adapter connection
i have also right clicked the icon on the taskbar at the bottom and it says network connection unavailable.
is the problem with the wireless adapter? how can i check this is working properly?
thanks
colin

i have just resolved the problem, there is a switch on the side of the laptop which was sithced off, and this must be to enable to wireless adapter, because when i switched it on it turned on the bluetooth aswell,

Glad to hear you got it sorted
I dislike those little switches, I know why they have them (it can save a fair chunk of battery life, and makes sure the wireless is off if you're on a plane), but they're usually very poorly marked out, and many people don't realise they are there0
