Confusing Internet Speed

Hi there

My friend has a problem and I have tried to research the answer but can not solve the problem. Basically several speed tests report he gets between 12 and 13 Mbps but logging into the router always reports only 2 Mbps? Any ideas?

    The speed tests are incorrect, sometimes firewalls cause problems with speed testers. Can you post your friends full router statistics.

    Your modem download speed stats are 21012kbps = 21 Mbps

    This is the synch speed - data downloading speeds are less due to data transmission overheads.

    21Mbps sync, very fast, and me and my 7 Mbps have gone right off your mate.;)

    PS If you scroll down to the bottom of that router page and click on show statistics you can get info on the line attenuation and noise margin.
