There's a chance that wrong size blades may have been fitted by a previous owner/garage. Find out what size they're supposed to be and meausre yours up.

The Peugeot 307 is the same, the car has been built for driving on the right. Therefore the wiper blade on the UK driver's side is smaller than the other. Too expensive for the manufacturer to make alternative during build probably. Does the Altea have the same design wipers as 307? ie each sweep from centre out? My present car, Vauxhall Meriva, has the same system, but both blades are the same length, however, the lh blade sweep overlaps the rh and leaves a line in front of UK driver's vision.

I have a Seat Altea (model year 2005), and IIRC the wiper blades are the same size! They park in the vertical position in the windscreen pillar and their motion is controlled so that they don't clash when the sweep down to the bottom of the screen. There is a region where the sweep of the blades overlaps of course (in the lower middle area of the screen), but I fail to see how the blades can be the opposite way around?

    Will check for sure tomorrow.

Checked and they are the same size. Driver's side sweeps down first. The overlapping region of the screen is quite large.

You could try swapping the blades over if you have different length ones. The owners manual tells you how to put the wipers into the service position in order to do this.
